But Wemby doesn't get to have the dominant big man rookie season like Kareem, or Unseld, or Russell. He has to settle for Joe Barry Carroll numbers and ESPN highlights.
Yeah, agree, it would be fascinating to see what would've happened had the Spurs taken the path of trying to compete right away, as you suggest. Maybe that's gonna happen sooner rather than later, given what he's showing them this season. No doubt they'd say it's sustainable success they're building toward. We shall see.
